Centerpieces can be very expensive and it is a shame to have to throw them out after a wedding. Instead of using flowers that just sits there and wilts, consider edible centerpieces for your wedding reception instead.

An edible centerpiece is a perfect choice for a couple that is on a tight budget. It will not only give an attractive appeal to your reception, but also make your tables look festive and provide a desert to your guests at the same time.

You now have the ring, oh and the fiancé, but what about your bridesmaids?  What is the best way to ask your close friends to be a part of your special day?  Some like to ask one at a time in person while others may send out a mass facebook or text message.

If you decide to ask in person, consider presenting your ladies with a tasty sweet right before you pop the question.  Cookie Cousins (www.thecookiecousins.com) makes bridal themed cookies that can be designed just for your occasion.  If you choose not to gift them to your bridesmaids, consider them as favors for your guests.   Not only are they an adorable gift, but they taste just as good as they look!

Wedding Favors & Placecards… all in one!

Here a two ideas for that budget-savvy bride to use for the big day! First off, who doesn’t love chocolate? I found these yummy placecards on weddingbee.com (a wonderful wedding blog) and they are easy, unique, and serve as favors for your guests. For those of you who aren’t so crafty or don’t have the time to put these together yourself, contact a local chocolate shop. If you don’t want to put together the other pieces yourself use any of the hundreds of resources online for packaging and wrapping.

Another idea that can be used as both placecards and favors is the simple delight of popcorn. Custom flavored and colored popcorn treats, wrapped and ready to go! The favor is so fun, original, and can be used with any theme just by matching the colors. Visit the Kernel Encore store located in Orlando or visit their website at kernelencorepopcorn.com. Pricing is affordable and you will be saving from using one piece for two functions. I just love multipurpose items!

Happy 4th of July to everyone… Hope we all get to cook out, watch the fireworks and relax for the weekend.

A common exit for the happy couple these days includes sparklers.  Now I’ll go ahead and forewarn brides and grooms to take a good hard look at their guest list before they hand out any kind of fire to party goers at the end of the night…  ;)

I will say that the results can be beautiful for photos thought, so its not a bad idea. Inexpensive as well. If you have a wedding coming up after the 4th, hit the sales on the 5th!

We all know I am The Martha Stewart Fan.  So this year when my mom announced that all of our gifts should come from the heart, not the wallet, I started doing my homework on what I could “home-make”.  Martha has helped with inspiration so I put together my faves (with links to instructions of course) to make it easier on your search as well!

Travel collages for any explorer that loves display the memories.  I hope someone makes me this!

Holiday CDs for the music lover… pick their favorite music genre and there will definitely be a holiday CD to match!  Of course we all aren’t fans of “Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town” so any music that THEY will love is the way to go.

Drink mixers for the party goer or the hostess with the mostess…

And here are some cute carriers for the mixers as well

Fabric covered picture frames for that friend that prints out all those good times!

Hand warmer for your friends toughin’ out the winter cold, unlike here in Orlando.

More ideas to come, I’ll of course share my creations that hopefully resemble these pics…  Just a helpful hint though, think about what you love to do and what you are good it and try to meld that with what your loved ones enjoy.  I love taking photos so I plan to take photos of the family and give them to my Nana.  this is good strategy as long as you remember the gift is for them , not you ;)

Happy Holidays!

I’m obsessed!  When I first found out about etsy a few months ago I had no clue how MUCH stuff was available on there… fast forward to today (when I should be studying for an exam before I head to a wedding) and I can’t stop browsing all the goodies!

I have such a hard time finding birthday gifts for all my favorite people who deserve a fun & unique gift but now I have my go-to place.  I’ve already bought three gifts since yesterday (below).  So I’m just postin’ to say get-to-browsing!

Wall Decals for my best girlfriend, I’m so glad I didn’t have to just buy her clothes!

Painting for my ocean-loving friend.

Just wanted to share these cute websites that are worth browsing especially if you’re looking for favors, decor, etc.  They both offer eco friendly products which is so important these days.  Quite fun stuff…

Plum Party is full of fun things, they have a really great eco friendly section (including this paper pop-up placemat).

Other cutesy decor…

For your Party offers really adorable design-your-own products.  The steps are simple and the results are unique & personal. Napkins, drink stir sticks, ribbons and more can all be personalized by you! Below are my personally crafted goodies…
